The Rob Roy Elixir
Named after an Operetta about a Scottish Highland Folk Hero, the Rob Roy was created in Manhattan around 1895. Based on the older Manhattan elixir formula but constructed by swapping of rye bourbon for scotch whisky, most notably a blended whisky.
Our elixir has light smoke, caramel, and toffee notes from the blended whisky, combined with the slight botanical sweetness of the rosso vermouth and a hint of spice from the aromatic bitters.
To formulate our Rob Roy using the elixeration process, our base is an award-winning blended scotch whisky that has not changed its recipe in over 100 years, Italian rosso vermouth, and finally Australian aromatic bitters.
